Details
A weighty Chinese bronze tripod incense burner (ding form) dating to the late Ming Dynasty, circa 1600. The censer features a compressed globular body on three cabriole legs, with a pair of upright loop handles decorated with mythical lion-head terminals. The body displays a rich, dark chocolate-brown patina developed over four centuries. The recessed base bears a six-character Xuande reign mark (apocryphal, as was convention). Diameter: 18cm, Height: 12cm, Weight: 1.8kg. An impressive piece of Chinese bronze work with superb presence.
