A characterful Arts & Crafts hammered copper coal scuttle, circa 1895. The helmet-shaped body displays the hand-hammered planished finish and honest construction celebrated by the Arts & Crafts movement. Features a sturdy wrought iron swing handle with scrolled terminals and decorative copper rivets. The interior retains traces of its original tin lining. A versatile piece that works beautifully as a fireside accessory, log basket, or planter. Height: 38cm, Width: 32cm. Stamped with an unidentified maker’s mark on the base.
