A distinguished Chippendale mahogany chest of drawers with an elegant serpentine front, circa 1780. The chest features four long graduated drawers with original swan-neck brass bail handles and decorative escutcheons. The top drawer contains a fitted interior with compartments and a sliding writing surface. The piece stands on carved ogee bracket feet with a shaped apron. The original finish has developed a rich, warm patina over two centuries. Dimensions: 100cm x 54cm x 88cm.
